Baptist Collegiate Ministry at The University of Richmond is a mission of the Virginia Baptist Mission Board and associated with the Kairos Initiative, a young-adults venture of the VBMB.
BCM Richmond is a campus ministry open to people of all backgrounds and tradition that hopes to explore and grow in our understanding of faith in a genuine community. Our guiding mission is to be a welcoming place for all students as they seek to hear and live into God’s call to do justice, love kindness, and walk humbly with their God.
We are a community that embraces deep discussions and thoughtful exploration about who we are as followers, who we are in God, and what it means to answer the calling, “Follow Me.” God calls us to be united as a community, a people, and BCM Richmond is a safe space to find this fellowship through conversation, service, and fun-filled laughter.
We are facilitated by Rev. Rusty Lee
A Clemson graduate (Go Tigers!)
, Rusty moved to Richmond to pursue a vocational calling to ministry at Baptist Theological Seminary at Richmond earning an M. Div. in 2011. Rusty is passionate about seeing the next generation of young people come to know Christ more. In his personal time, he follows all things Orange and tries – with the help of his beautiful wife, Darie(rhymes with Marie) – be the father of three great kids. We are all students of spirituality and he is excited to learn alongside the wonderful students at the University of Richmond.
